Dan Shea is a results-oriented leader with a 30+ year track record of success in executing and closing transactions in high pressure, high value and time-sensitive situations. 

His transaction experience includes private and public company sales, corporate divestitures, mergers, acquisitions and capital raise engagements, as well as preparing strategic assessments for owners, management and their boards often as a precursor to transaction execution. 

Dan is a frequent presenter and panelist at M&A conferences. He has been cited in numerous publications including The Wall Street Journal, Dow Jones’ Private Equity Analyst, Pitchbook, Financier Worldwide, Alt Assets, U.S. News & World Report, IndustryWeek, and Industry Today. Dan was also recently recognized by the Los Angeles Times as a Finance Visionary and by the Los Angeles Business Journal as Top 100 Banker (2025) and a Leader of Influence (2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024). 

Prior to co-founding Shea | Miller, Dan served as a Managing Director with Objective Capital Partners, BDO Capital Advisors (a subsidiary of BDO USA, LLP) and W.Y. Campbell & Company (a division of Comerica Incorporated – NYSE: CMA). Early on, he held a senior position with Ernst & Young Corporate Finance LLC as well.

Carl Miller | Partner

Carl Miller is a highly accomplished investment banker with 20+ years of experience. He has advised clients across a broad range of industries, leading a variety of engagements including mergers, acquisitions, capital raises, restructurings, strategic advisory, fairness and solvency opinions, litigation support, and valuations.

Before co-founding Shea | Miller, Carl was a Managing Director at Objective Capital Partners and W Partners as well as a Senior Vice President at M.M. Dillon & Co. where he was a founding member of the firm’s Energy Team. Carl also has intensive strategy experience having worked at AXA in the Corporate Strategy Group where he led teams in the analysis and execution of both acquisitive and organic growth strategies for the firm. Carl got his start in investment banking as an Associate at Houlihan Lokey in New York after working at J.P. Morgan as a Summer Associate.

Carl has been recognized numerous times for his achievements. The Los Angeles Times recently highlighted him as an Industry Visionary (2024). In addition, Carl was nominated for Dealmaker of the Year as well as Top 100 Banker in Los Angeles by the Los Angeles Business Journal (2025).
